We paid for breakfast as part of our reservation and my husband gagged on the sausage, I don't know what was in it but it was not edible. We couldn't just jump in the car to come and go as we pleased, you have to wait for valet to bring your car any time you leave. I was deeply disappointed that we spent SO much money reserving this hotel. We finally got to our room and although it LOOKED nice, there were no amenities that I was impressed by. Nobody came to take glasses or refill drinks, you have to go to the bar if you want service. All of the bartenders were hanging out behind the bar talking instead of tending to customers at tables which I found odd. We went to the bar and I ordered a signature drink that tasted like pure vodka with a few berries thrown in. We decided to go to the roof top bar, as we open the door to walk out an awful smell of stale beer hit us hard. We had been traveling and looking forward to freshening up and going to eat but we're unable to until our room was ready. I had tipped the valet $20 when he asked if we needed help taking our luggage to our room, but because it wasn't ready our luggage sat at the reception desk and we ended up pulling it upstairs ourselves once our room was ready. We were given drink vouchers and basically told to wait until our room is ready, with no idea when that may be. We arrived to check in at 5:00, 2 hours after check in time begins and our room was not ready. So many inconveniences while staying at this hotel that I don't know where to begin. Needless to say I am not sure if we will visit this hotel again. In the industry of choices and competition there is no room for poor customer service. For Eric to lie then insult my intelligence was poor on his behalf. We could afford the room but was not paying that rate. I am a VP of National Training for a global organization and my husband an Engineer. Eric said the only room they had remaining was a suite at $1100 a night. I called the hotels central reservations number to inquire if the hotel was sold out and it was not. A few hours after check in we noticed two couples enter separate rooms on the bay side view. They offered a warehouse/partial bay side view room. When I picked up my phone to call other hotels in the area for availability they all of a sudden found my request, but then said the hotel was booked. Upon check in we were given a warehouse view. I reserved our vacation 6 weeks in advance. Eric and Krystal at the front desk were rude. The facility is new and after staying at several other hotels in Traverse City I was really looking forward to our stay at Hotel Indigo, however, the poor customer service ruined it.
